Amazon Air Opens Facility Near Cincinnati, Hotel Occupancy Falls, North Texas May Get Electric Vehicle Plant

  Amazon Air Opens Cargo Facility The air cargo arm of online retailing giant Amazon officially opened its $1.5 billion facility in the Cincinnati area. The Seattle-based company announced Wednesday that it kicked off operations for its Amazon Air hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. It will serve as the central hub for the company’s air cargo network. Four years in the making, the hub contains an 800,000-square-foot sorting operation on a 600-acre campus that has seven buildings in all. Eventually, the operation will employ 2,000 people. The air cargo hub marks another step in a quest to have its own delivery service, which puts it in competition with UPS, FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service. Amazon Air’s new facility is 100 miles from UPS’ central hub at the airport in Louisville, Kentucky. LinkedIn: Tampa Bay lands in top 10 for tech worker relocations

  LinkedIn now has proof that technology workers across the nation really are moving to the Tampa Bay region in droves. The website released its top 10 cities for tech employees based on migration patterns, with the Tampa Bay region landing at the No. 6 spot. The Bay area had roughly 128 employees per every 10,000 LinkedIn users relocate to the region between May 2020 and April 2021.
